Brief History of SKECI

BRIEF HISTORY

Long before SKECI has reached this far, there were some memorable events along the way that are still vivid in my mind. On September 28, 2006, a friend of mine who came all the way from manila tried to convince me to venture in a business, particularly, of putting up a school. I was then convinced by him. I was actually inspired after we took a visit to Philippine Internet Based Distance Education College, a school somewhere in Cotabato City.

To start running my business, I put up sites in Lambayong, Tacurong, Lebak and Sultan Kudarat. Unfortunately, soon after I had started operating my schools, the TESDA discovered that those schools of mine are not duly registered.

After that event, I went to SEC (Security and Exchange Commission) in Davao City on May 12, 2007 to register a new school name SKEIT (Southern Kutawato Empire Institute of Technology) located in Tacurong City. With Allah’s help, the registration was then approved on July 4, 2007. It was during that time that I had been through a lot of trials in my life. Trials that I thought, I would never surmount. There were instances that I had experienced starvation due to lack of enrollees. It was happened on August 5, 2007 and October 10, 2007 respectively. Yet, I never gave up. My mind was focused then on always looking on the brighter side of life. For I believe that Allah will never give us trials that we can’t handle. All those excruciating experiences of mine was happened in Muslim Center in Tacurong City.

Until One day, I met a certain Ustadz to whom I had agreed upon to transfer my school somewhere in Kalandagan, Tacurng City. The School’s operation lasted only for about five months due to some misbehavior/misconducts of that said Ustadz towards my staffs. It was then that I had thought of moving my school to Cotabato City for I have that notion that it’s not going to operate well anymore in Tacurong City. I had finally decided to transfer it in Cotabato City on June 10, 2008, with its courses duly registered under TESDA (Technical Education in Skills Development Authority) Cotabato City District Office with the help of its District Director Mr. Osmenia M. Mabinay. By now, I can proudly say that, with Allah’s help and with the people whom He used as His instruments to help me, my school is operating very well.

We should always inculcate in our minds that for as long as we live, we should never lose hope.

Thank you so much!! Wassalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahitaala Wabarakatuhu…
